Message behind "Cast Your Nets" classic tee
John 21:6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
After the death on the cross of Jesus, Peter and several of the disciples decided to go fishing. The disciples had fished all night with no success. They’d thrown their nets out hoping that they would catch something. Fishing had always been a safe place, something that they knew a lot about. At daybreak, Jesus appeared on the shoreline. Knowing that his disciples caught no fish, He asked them whether or not they caught anything. Jesus asked them this question in hopes that they would see that because they were doing something their own way and not the way He wanted them to they would be unsuccessful.
Jesus asked his disciples to cast the net on the right side… I am unsure as to what side is the right, as opposed to the left, but whatever whatever side they originally were casting on was the wrong side. After obeying Jesus, they found that that their nets were breaking because of the amount of fish they were catching.
Sometimes in our lives we fish for things with our nets on the wrong side...
If your having a tough time... could it be your casting your net on the wrong side of the boat ? Try casting your net on the other side, Jesus is waiting for you with open arms.
